magazine coursework
Magazine
Task 1- Create a front cover, article and contents page (for more detail see the sheet). It needs to be an independent publishing organisation targeting 30-49 year olds, mostly explorers or reformers. I'm going to do a women fashion magazine targeting a niche audience of cultured older women. An explorer is driven buy the need for discovery, so they respond to brands that offer new sensations whereas a reformer won't buy something just because its new as they are intellectually and socially aware, so they crave authenticity.

Front Cover
The front cover must include the following features as a minimum; an original title, mashed, strapline, a cover price and bar code, a main original cover image and at least four cover lines. I intend to use Neve as a model, wearing something business like, and will photograph the top half of her body. I will call the magazine 'Rose' and will include cover lines in small writing as to fit the theme. I want to do a border of a different colour like the magazine above has featured.
Contents page
This page must include three images relating to articles featured and a full list of contents. Im going to present this page as several scattered images of Neve with groupings of the articles featured due to the genre, for example, big stories, fashion, reviews, politics, health.
Article
The article must be a double page spread, 400 words and relating to one of the cover lines featured on the front page. It must include a heading, sub headings, one main image, several smaller images (that are different from other images featured), representations of at least one social group, and pulled quotes that are featured in the article. Once again, i will use a photo of Neve and maybe write an article about a new trend in fashion or health, that appeals to women of this age group.
Task 2-
Create a radio sequence or television sequence to publisise the launch. It must be 2-2 and a half minutes long. it needs to beamed at 30-49 year olds, for a niche independent company. The radio sequence must include an introduction of the magazine by the presenter, an interview with the designer discussing the production process, editing of sound, a range of audio material, and recording in a studio setting as well as another location relevant to the context of the magazine.
